Description
The guide-post at the junction with Wigton Lane is likely from the mid-19th century. It is a square monolith made of roughly-dressed stone, featuring two cast-iron plaques set into the east and south faces. The plaques have raised letters and pointing hands. The east face, which faces Wike Ridge Lane, reads: "TO LEEDS TO WIKE." The south face, which faces Wigton Lane, reads: "TO ALLWOODLEY GATES." Beneath the south plaque, there is a bench mark.
