Description

The remains of the archway to the stables south of Number 5 date from the late 18th century and consist of the front wall only. The structure is made of ashlar and stands two storeys high with five bays. The central bay is wider and features a large elliptical archway with a keyblock and a continuous impost band. Flanking this are two bays with outer round-arched recesses and round-arched windows in between. On the first floor, there are square window openings with flat arches. To the rear, there is late 20th-century housing. This archway is included for its group value.
