Description

This is a road bridge built around 1815 by Edward Viscount Lascelles, located approximately 200 meters west of East Lodge on Harewood Church Lane. The bridge is constructed from large, roughly-dressed boulders and features a single segmental arch made from giant boulder voussoirs, with landscaped boulder abutments and a parapet. Inside, there is a raised pavement on one side. The bridge was designed to provide access from Harewood House to Harewood Castle, which was considered a picturesque ruin at the time.
