Description
Liversedge Hall, including the cottage, is a hall dating from around 1600 that has been altered over time. It is constructed of deeply coursed ashlar stone and features a gabled stone slate roof with chamfered gable copings and ornamental finials. The building has two storeys, with a continuous drip moulding over each floor. The symmetrical facade is topped by a tall ashlar parapet and features a central door, which may have been rebuilt, flanked by small windows. On both the left and right sides, there are 6-light double chamfered mullioned and transomed windows on both floors, although the ground floor windows have been extended downwards at a later date. The two gables on the right each have similar 6-light windows on both floors, while the single gable on the left has an 8-light window on both floors. There is a 19th-century addition or alteration at the rear, which includes two bays of 3-light windows. Inside, there is a fireplace that contains the traceried head of a window taken from a nearby chapel, featuring cinquefoiled lights and a quatrefoil in the head.
