Description

Field Head House is a large house built in the early 19th century. It features a painted ashlar front with brick back and side elevations. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, supported by moulded stone brackets at the gutter. The house has two storeys and a symmetrical three-bay facade. A central Doric portico with a full entablature is a prominent feature. On both the left and right sides of the facade, there are three-light stone mullioned windows on each floor, with a single light window above the doorway. The rear elevation includes a central door with a round arched staircase window above it, flanked by three-light windows similar to those on the front, on both floors.
