Description
Duxbury Hall and Cottage is a former hall that has been divided and now includes later cottages. It dates from the 17th century or early 18th century, with early and mid-19th century additions and alterations, as well as some recent changes. The building is constructed of hammer dressed stone and features quoins. It has a three-gabled stone slate roof with gable copings on moulded kneelers and ornamental finials at each gable apex.
The left bay has a 6-light double chamfered window on each floor, featuring a king mullion and a hood mould. The central bay has a 5-light double chamfered window on each floor, also with a hood mould. There is a central doorway with a classical surround and a fanlight. The right gable and right elevation have been altered to create a 19th century cottage, which includes a near central door and 3-light windows. Additionally, there is a mid-19th century cottage addition at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
