Description

The Vicarage is a large detached residence, originally built in 1831 for Joseph Hirst, and later became the vicarage. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a hipped stone slate roof with ashlar stacks and stone brackets supporting the gutter. The building has two storeys and a three-bay symmetrical facade, which includes a continuous sill band on the first floor. The central doorway has a plain surround and a fanlight above it. The windows are sash style with stone surrounds, and there is a canted bay on the right elevation. There are later additions to the left and rear of the building.
