Description

The gateway arch located to the south of the Church of St Peter, along with a lamp-post in the middle of St Peter's Gardens, dates from the mid-19th century. The arch features stepped sides and a pitched gable, topped with a moulded design that includes a cross finial, traceried panels, and a blind quatrefoil. The lamp-post, also from the mid-19th century, is made of cast iron and has an ornamental column with a delicate hexagonal lamp.
