Description

1, 2, and 3 Holme Lane are three early to mid 19th century dwellings arranged in a row. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone, with No 3 featuring a cement-rendered western gable. The roofs are primarily covered with stone slate, although two of the roofs are covered with bitumen. No 1 has occasional stone brackets, while all three houses have cement-rendered chimneys with a chamfered string course. The buildings are two storeys tall.

On the south elevation, No 1 has a ground floor with a four-light stone mullioned window that is chamfered, and a first floor with a six-light stone mullioned window, also chamfered. No 2 features a ground floor with a two-light square stone mullioned window and a first floor with a six-light stone mullioned window. No 3 has a ground floor with a four-light stone mullioned window that has extended heads, and a first floor with a six-light stone mullioned window.

On the north elevation, No 1 has a ground floor with a doorway that has a stone surround and tie-stones, along with a modern window. The first floor has a two-light stone mullioned window that is chamfered. No 2 has a ground floor with a modern window and a first floor with a two-light stone mullioned window. No 3 has a ground floor with a window that has a stone surround, a first floor with a two-light stone mullioned window, and another window with stone surrounds. There is a two-storey modern extension at the eastern end of No 1, and two-storey extensions with catslide roofs on the northern elevation of Nos 2 and 3. Additionally, there is a single-storey outbuilding adjoining No 1, which has a stone slate roof.
