Description
Nos 126 and 128 Town Gate are a back-to-back pair of houses that form part of a terrace, built in the early to mid 18th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone, with some parts rendered, and feature a stone slate roof. The south-east elevation of No 128 has moulded stone brackets and continuous sill bands on the first and second floors. The ground floor includes an entrance and a three-light stone mullioned window. Each of the first and second floors has one six-light stone mullioned window. The north-west elevation of No 126 has a central doorway on the ground floor, flanked by single lights on each side, although there have been some alterations. The first and second floors each have one seven-light stone mullioned window, with the second-floor window having two lights blocked.
