Description
The Calder and Hebble Navigation Cooper Bridge Lock, built between 1774 and 1780, has undergone alterations in 1899, as indicated by a dated kerbstone. The lock features walls made of both hammer-dressed stone and grey brick, with ashlar kerbstones. It includes iron mooring hooks and two wooden lock gates. The bridge has S-shaped ramps, combining 18th century masonry with 19th century grey brick, and features a flat iron span, likely from the 1899 alterations.
