Description

The barn at Lower Hirst Farm, dating from the early to mid 19th century, is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a pitched stone slate roof with coped gables. It has segment-headed barn doors and two rows of six segment-headed ventilation slits on each side. Inside, there are queen post trusses, with two supported by an internal stone porch and two resting on cylindrical stone pillars that rise to the full height of the interior.
