Description

The gatehouse to Edgerton Cemetery, built in the mid-19th century, is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a pitched fishscale slate roof. This two-storey building has a gabled design and includes mullioned and transomed windows. The front showcases a broad three-storey tower topped with a crenellated parapet. At the center of the ground floor, there is a blind four-centred arch. The south range has a canted bay, also with a crenellated parapet. The gatehouse is flanked by two gates, each featuring three 2-centred moulded arches topped with crow-stepped gables. The structure is supported by buttresses and has octagonal turrets at either end, both crowned with conical tops.
