Description
Ivy Farmhouse and the adjoining barn, built in 1790, are located on Brockholes Road in Farnley Tyas. The buildings are constructed from hammer dressed stone and feature quoins and a stone slate roof. Originally, there were two ashlar stacks, but one has been altered. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a near central doorway flanked by a four-light window on the left and a two-light window on the right. On the first floor, there was originally a twelve-light window, but three lights are now blocked. Above the door, there is a recessed tablet inscribed with "Erected by Jas. Scafe 1790." The barn to the right has a three-light window on both floors and a central cart entrance with a segmental head, accompanied by a mistal door to the right. At the rear of the house, there is an addition of similar date but altered, and there is a later addition at the rear of the barn that is not included in the listing.
