Description
Ibbotson Farmhouse and the attached barn date from the late 18th century, with an addition from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The farmhouse is two stories high with two bays, and it has an additional two-story bay on the right side, while the barn on the left has three bays.
The farmhouse has a 20th-century glazed door on the right set in a raised sawn stone surround. To the left, there are two three-light mullion windows with raised surrounds and recessed mullions on both the ground and first floors. The house has a central banded ridge stack. The additional bay on the right features paired 20th-century top-hinged casements in projecting stone surrounds with a central mullion, along with a banded stack on the right side.
The barn has a central double board door for cart access, which is framed by quoined jambs and a cambered arch. On either side of the barn entrance are byre doors, which are obscured by 20th-century sliding doors. The gable walls of the barn have copings with shaped kneelers. The interiors were not inspected during the resurvey.
