Description
These are two dwellings arranged at a 90-degree angle, forming an "L" shape. They date to 1678 but were altered in the late 18th or early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of hammer-dressed stone with quoins, and have a stone slate roof with hollow chamfered gable copings on moulded kneelers. The main elevation of No. 51 retains double-chamfered windows, although most of the mullions have been removed. The first floor has two three-light windows, while the ground floor has one three-light window, one four-light window, and an adjoining square-cut two-light window. A small, blocked fire window is located to the right. The gable of this part features a dated fire window from 1678, inscribed with āK I Dā, and a later entrance on its right side. The front of No. 53 has openings dating to the late 18th or early 19th century, including a central doorway and a three-light window on both floors to the left and right, where mullions have also been removed. There is a later lean-to extension to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
