Description

A terrace of four weavers' houses dating from the early to mid-19th century, situated off Meltham Road in Honley. The buildings are constructed from hammer-dressed stone with stone slate roofs and gable copings to the left and right ends. Stone brackets are also present. Nos. 14 and 20 are three-storey, while Nos. 16 and 18 are two-storey.

The south elevation of No. 20 features a single bay with stone mullioned windows, along with a ground-floor entrance. Nos. 18 and 16 were originally a pair of houses, with entrances on both the left and right (the entrance to No. 16 has been blocked). Each of Nos. 18 and 16 has a three-light stone mullioned window to the ground floor and a five-light window to the first floor, although one light in each five-light window has been blocked. No. 14 has an entrance and a four-light stone mullioned window to the ground floor, with a four-light window above it, and various blocked windows. The second floor of No. 14 features a six-light stone mullioned window, three of which have been blocked. The north elevation has a variety of multiple-light windows, some of which are blocked. No. 18 has a lean-to extension with a catslide roof, whereas a similar extension to No. 16 is considered to be of no architectural interest.
