Description

A terrace of three weavers' houses dating from the early to mid-19th century. The houses are built of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof and have three stone chimney stacks. Gable copings sit on carved kneelers, and moulded stone brackets are present on both elevations.

The north-west elevation displays near-symmetry in Nos 3 and 5. The ground and first floors have two bays each, with a central doorway and a three-light stone mullioned window to the right of a four-light stone mullioned window to the left. The second floor has two six-light stone mullioned windows, with one light blocked to the right. No 1, on the right, has a ground floor with two central doorways, one blocked, and a large window opening on either side. The first floor has a central doorway within a modern porch with a bridge, a two-light window to the left, and a three-light window to the right. The second floor has a continuous ten-light stone mullioned window. A single entrance is located in the north-east gable, at ground floor level.

The south-east elevation shows that Nos 3 and 5 have a central doorway with a three-light window to the left and a four-light window to the right. Two six-light stone mullioned windows are on the first floor, and a single 14-light stone mullioned window with a sill band is on the second floor. No 1, on the left, features a single ten-light stone mullioned window on the second floor. A former barn was once joined to the house and perpendicular to the ground and first floors, but it is now partially demolished. An exposed wall of the house is now rendered and has several new openings.
