Description
Hagg House is a large detached house located in Lower Hagg, Holmfirth. It was built in the late 18th century and has undergone alterations and additions in the late 19th century. The house is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features quoins and a stone slate roof. It has three storeys, with two storeys at the rear. The main part of the house has two bays and a central door, flanked by late 19th-century bay windows on both sides. Each of the first and second floors has a three-light window on the left and a four-light window on the right.
To the left, there is a single bay that includes a doorway with a fanlight on the ground floor and a small single light window on the first and second floors, all beneath a mono-pitched roof. Adjacent to this is another mono-pitched extension that has been altered. To the right, there is a late 19th-century two-storey addition. The rear of the house features a central staircase window with glazing bars and a round arch, along with three and four-light windows on each side.
