Description
Clitheroe Farmhouse and Barn is a handed pair built in the late 18th century, with the barn positioned at a right angle to the farmhouse. The buildings are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature quoins and a stone slate roof, with gable copings resting on carved kneelers. The farmhouse is two storeys high.
On the south elevation, there are two central doors flanked by a four-light stone mullioned window on each side, with two mullions removed from each window. The first floor has four four-light stone mullioned windows, also with two mullions removed. The barn, built with coursed rubble and also featuring quoins and gable copings on carved kneelers, has a large door on the east elevation with a round arch and a small light above it, along with a small doorway and a later single light at a high level. The west elevation has a central doorway and one three-light stone mullioned window, with two blocked three-light stone mullioned windows at a high level. There is a later extension to the south of the barn.
