Description
The Commercial Hotel, located at 62 New Street, is an early 19th-century building constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a hipped stone slate roof. It stands three storeys tall and features stone brackets supporting the gutter. The facade includes three ranges of sash windows set in plain raised surrounds, and the entrance door is framed by a moulded wooden surround. Number 64, which is part of the same structure, boasts an attractive early 20th-century shopfront with a fascia that ramps upwards towards the corner. Additionally, there is a two-storey extension on High Street, built with the same materials, which includes one range of tripartite stone mullioned casements, one range of sashes, and one range of bipartite stone mullioned casements.
