Description
The Church of St Barnabas is a Gothic Revival church built in 1893, constructed from hammer-dressed stone and topped with a slate roof featuring gable copings. The building has a fan bay nave and a two-bay chancel, both accompanied by lean-to aisles, and a vestry wing located on the north side of the south porch. The aisles are adorned with triple lancets, while the clerestory windows are five-foiled. The east window consists of triple lancets with a hood mould, and the west window features paired lancets, each with a trefoil in the head and a hood mould. A bell cote is situated on the west side, housing twin bells in cusped openings, with a quatrefoil above.
Inside, the church has a four-bay arcade on each side supported by short columns with square capitals. An oak chancel screen and scissor-braced trusses add to the interior's character.
