Description
Clough House is a late 18th-century house that is part of a row of buildings. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with quoins and a plinth, topped with a stone slate roof featuring gable copings on the left side. The house has three storeys and a symmetrical three-bay facade. The central entrance is a panelled door with a traceried fanlight and a small cornice above, which is accompanied by a plaque noting that the Reverend Patrick Bronte resided here from 1812. There are paired lights on both sides of the entrance across all floors, with the ground floor lights being taller and possibly altered. The rear elevation features a nearly central door with a slender staircase window above, which has early glazing bars. Each floor on the left and right sides has three light stone mullioned windows, with the left ground floor window being altered.
