Description

No. 34, Town Gate is a late 18th-century dwelling, originally a pair of houses. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with quoins, and has a stone slate roof with gable copings and carved kneelers. The building is three storeys high. The front elevation features two central doorways with a three-light window to the left. To the right, the building has been altered. The first floor has two three-light windows, from which the mullions have been removed from the right-hand window. The second floor has two six-light windows, several of which are blocked. The rear elevation has two two-light windows to the first floor and one four-light window to the second floor. A small extension is present on the west gable.
