Description

Hall Croft is a former Sunday school, now converted into a single dwelling, dating to 1816 with a later addition. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof featuring gable copings and one ashlar stack, and incorporates stone brackets. The building originally comprised five bays, and a two-bay extension has been added to the right. The original central bay projects slightly, featuring a doorway and an open pediment bearing an inscribed plaque reading "This School built by Subscription 1816". Flanking the central bay are two round arched windows, now fitted with modern casements. The extension to the right features a window of the same design and a blocked doorway. A modern garage is located beneath the extension. The rear elevation contains five round arched windows, one belonging to the later extension, and three further windows at basement level.
