Description

Kestrel and Kingfisher Cottages are two dwellings that form part of a larger group. The cottages have origins in the 18th century, with the front facade being rebuilt in the early to mid-19th century. The lower portion of the walls is constructed from deeply coursed millstone grit with quoins, while the upper portion is of hammer-dressed stone. The roof is covered with stone slates, and features gable copings and moulded kneelers. Two stacks are made of ashlar. The south-east elevation has two central doorways on the ground floor, and includes a 4-light and a 3-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor. The first floor has a 4-light, a 3-light, and a 2-light stone mullioned window. The north-west elevation has two 2-light double chamfered stone mullioned windows on the first floor. The south-west gable has a single 2-light double chamfered stone mullioned window on the first floor.
