Description
Numbers 3 and 4 on Scar Top are a pair of mid-19th century weavers' houses, part of a row. They are built from hammer-dressed stone and have a pitched stone slate roof that is covered with bitumen. The buildings feature three chimneys, one with tabling and another with half-round copings, and stone brackets supporting the gutter. They are two storeys high, with the northern side being slightly taller.
On the south elevation, the ground floor has two entrances with stone surrounds and tie-stones, along with two four-light stone mullioned windows. The first floor features one seven-light stone mullioned window and one six-light stone mullioned window. The north elevation has two blocked doors and one three-light stone mullioned window. The west elevation includes one two-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor and one three-light stone mullioned window on the first floor.
