Description

No 23 on Scarhouse Lane in Golcar is an early to mid 19th century weavers house, part of a row of similar buildings. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a pitched stone slate roof with coped gables. The building has three storeys, although it appears as two storeys on the north side.

On the south elevation, the ground floor includes one door with a stone surround and a four-light stone mullioned window. The first and second floors each have a seven-light stone mullioned window, with 13 of the lights featuring glazing bars. On the north elevation, both the first and second floors have a two-light stone mullioned window.
