Description

The former stable or waggon shed, located on the north side of the Meltham Road drive at Lockwood Brewery, dates back to 1849. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a pitched stone slate roof. The building stands two storeys high and includes stone brackets supporting the roof, along with a decorative band. Modern windows have been added, while the front has a rock-faced rustication. Notably, there is an arched bell-cote on the ashlar gable, supported by paired consoles. The entrance is a semi-circular arch with a keystone that is inscribed with "B & S 1849".
