Description
The Tower of the Old Church of St Mary is a square church tower, with its lower part likely dating from the early Medieval period and the upper part appearing to be from the 15th or 16th century. The roof was added in the 19th century. The lower stage is constructed of random rubble, while the upper stage features deeply coursed stone. It has a pyramidal stone slate roof and consists of two stages. The lower stage includes buttresses, and the upper stage has paired arched lights, with the mullions appearing to be from the 19th century. The upper stage also features two-light windows with Perpendicular tracery. On the west side, which was formerly within the church, there is a now-blocked arched doorway.
