Description
Bank End is a large farmhouse that has been converted into four dwellings. It dates from the 17th century or early 18th century and features rendered walls with quoins. The stone slate roof has chamfered gable copings supported by carved kneelers, along with two ashlar gable stacks and one central stack. There are also two tall brick stacks added later on the north side.
The building is two storeys high with an attic. On the south elevation, there are three dwellings, each with a later entrance that has a chamfered surround. The ground floor features a four-light double chamfered stone mullioned window, while the first floor has two 2-light double chamfered windows, some of which have had their mullions removed.
The north elevation has two bays of three-light windows and one bay to the right with a three-light window on the ground floor and two 2-light windows on the first floor, all of which are double chamfered. One ground floor window has been altered, and there is a later doorway. A recent porch has been added to the east gable. The first floor and attic also have three single chamfered lights. On the west gable, there is an early doorway within an extension, featuring a deep lintel and chamfered surround.
