Description
Bank Top is a house dating from the mid-17th century. The front is made of large dressed stone, while the rear features thin coursed stone with dressed quoins and some rendered areas. The building is two storeys high and has a double-pile layout with a two-span roof.
The east front displays double-chamfered mullioned windows, including a prominent six-light window with a hoodmould that has heart-shaped stops. Above this is a three-light window, and to the left of the doorway is an arched light with sunken spandrels, composite jambs, and a Tudor arched lintel that likely bears the date 1668, set within a tressure and a chamfered surround. There is also a four-light window with spiral stops on the hoodmould and a three-light window above it. The gables are coped with kneelers, and the right gable features an extruded stack.
The left return wall has an arched light and a three-light window on the ground floor, while the right return wall has two extruded stacks, one on each gable. Between these stacks is a four-light window with a king mullion, and above it is a three-light window. The rear of the house has a six-light window with a similar window above it, as well as a two-light window and a four-light window on the first floor. A central stack is present in this rear range.
