SOWERBY BRIDGE TOWN GATE SE 0423 & SE 0523 (east end), Sowerby 12/272 Smith family tomb, approx 30 metres to north of sanctuary of Church of St Peter GV II Chest tomb. c.1800. Dressed stone. Tooled base. Finely-carved lettering on top slab in sunk border with raised decoration and trumpeting angels in top corners flanking open book, and fans in bottom corners flanking flower. Commemorates various members of the Smith family.
