Description
The mill chimney located to the west of Crestol House is a Grade II listed structure from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of coursed stone and features a square base with a round-arched vent on the north side, which faces the canal. There is a decorative band around the chimney, which transitions into an octagonal shaft that tapers as it rises to approximately 30 meters in height. Near the top, there is a stepped band, and the chimney is supported by paired shaped brackets on a table that holds a cornice. Access to the chimney is from the towing path of the Rochdale Canal.
