Description
The gate piers with gates, located approximately 70 metres east of Field House, are a pair of structures likely built around 1874. They are made of ashlar and feature cast-iron gates. Each square pier has a plinth with a moulded top, a shaft with a fluted band, and a festoon frieze on each face. The piers also have a moulded cornice and an urn on a coved corniced fluted base, adorned with swags and a flame finial. The gates consist of two tall leaves with spiked bars and two curved braces on each leaf. These gate piers are identical to those found on Rochdale Road, which are associated with No 192 and Porter Lodge, and are dated as '1749 rebuilt 1874'.
