Description
51 Boothtown Road, along with 2 and 4 Salisbury Place, is a row of three stone houses dated 1861, inscribed with 'Akroydon'. The buildings are designed in a Gothic style, featuring gables and two finials on the slated roof. No 51 has a double shop front on its east side that appears largely original, with three mullioned and transomed windows above, one of which is enriched with an arch and inscription. There is an arcade on the south return of the ground storey. The rear of the building is plain. Nos 2 and 4 Salisbury Place each have arched doorways, two windows, and a gable. This row, along with the Entrance Gateway and Lodge to the Burial Ground and Nos 23 to 51 (odd), forms a group.
