Description

The Victoria Memorial is a hexagonal stone structure built between 1870 and 1880, commissioned by Colonel Akroyd as the central feature of the model village of Akroydon. Designed in a rich 14th-century style, it has three main stages above a high stepped base, which is topped with pinnacles and a small spire. On the south side, there is a worn statue of a queen with an inscription below it. Additionally, remnants of mosaic decoration can be found on the north and south sides.
