Description

Park Farmhouse is a late 17th-century house with a mid to late 18th-century attached barn, constructed from hammer-dressed stone and featuring a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys. The south front includes the barn on the left, which has a semi-circular arched cart entry. To the right of this entry is a double chamfered mullioned window that was originally four lights but has been reduced to three by the addition of a doorway with monolithic jambs. A mid-20th-century porch covers the original doorway, which has a depressed Tudor arched lintel and a chamfered surround, located to the left of a 5-light double chamfered mullioned window. Above, on the first floor, there is a 6-light window that is missing three mullions, with a 5-light double chamfered mullioned window above it that is missing two mullions as well. The gables are coped and feature kneelers.

On the right-hand return wall, there is a 5-light double chamfered mullioned window on the first floor that is also missing two mullions. The rear of the building has a former 3-light window with a 5-light window above it, as well as a 6-light double chamfered mullioned window with a 6-light chamfered mullioned window above on the first floor. There is also an 8-light chamfered mullioned window and a semi-circular arched cart entry to the barn, which has a simple Venetian window above it. Originally, the house had a 3-room linear plan with a lobby entry against the heck-screen, which still preserves its post but lacks its bressumer. The service end of the house was incorporated into the barn during its construction in the 18th century.
