Description

This is a late 17th-century house, originally divided into three separate dwellings. It is constructed of large dressed stone with a stone slate roof and has a linear plan, consisting of three rooms arranged in a row. The ground floor windows are double-chamfered mullioned, while those on the first floor are simply chamfered, though some mullions are missing from all windows. A cavetto moulded string course runs along the front. The first cell (room) features an inserted doorway to the left of a five-light window, with a matching window above. The second cell has a five-light window and a smaller two-light window to the left of the doorway, which has a chamfered surround to the housebody. Above this is a ten-light window. The third cell features a five-light window with a matching window above, and an inserted cottage doorway. Two stacks rise from the ridge of the roof. Some roof purlins show evidence of re-use from a cruck-framed building, as they have ½-lap joints.
