Description

Rochdale Canal Lock Number 7 (Broadbottom) and the overflow channel to the north were built in 1798, designed by engineers W. Jessop and W. Crossley. The lock features large dressed stone retaining walls that include rebates for gates. The overflow channel also has dressed stone retaining walls.
