Description
This building is a cottage with an attached barn located 100 meters southeast of Old Chamber, dating from the mid-17th century with a barn added in the early 19th century. It has been used for agricultural purposes and is two storeys high. The structure is made of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof.
The south front features a doorway with composite jambs and a chamfered surround, adjacent to a double chamfered mullioned window with six lights, although it is missing two mullions. Above this is a small two-light chamfered window, which is also missing a mullion. The 19th-century cell includes a large flat-faced mullioned window that was originally five lights, with a similar window above it.
On the right-hand return wall, there is a chamfered doorway, and set back at right angles is the barn entry, which has an elliptical arch with a chamfered surround. Inside the barn, there are two large semi-circular stone arches that rise from corbels at the first-floor level. The barn was originally divided into three bays, but now consists of two, with one bay occupied by the 19th-century cell of the cottage and another bay that lacks a roof.
