Description
The Savile Arms Hotel is a public house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof and stands two storeys tall. The front features projecting quoins and a sill band for the first-floor windows. It has a five-bay façade, with large square windows in the first two bays and similar windows above. The third bay contains a doorway with monolithic jambs and a square hood supported by brackets, along with a window above. The fourth and fifth bays project forward, creating full-height bay windows with square-headed windows at the angles. The building has moulded gutter brackets and a hipped roof. In the first bay, there is a curved stone tablet displaying the Savile coat of arms and the motto "Be Fast," along with the date 1748, which is likely a reset feature.
