Description
Ovenden United Reformed Church is a 1837 Congregational Chapel that closely resembles the one at Northowram. The front is made of sandstone brick and features a plain pediment gable with kneelers. It has three bays, with a central shallow arched recess that extends into the gable, framing the doorway which has a simple keystoned arch. The windows have plain ashlar lintels and are marginally glazed. The side elevations are two stories high with five bays and two plain rows of windows. The church has a stone slate roof. Inside, there is a gallery that has been partly repaired in the late 19th century, and it retains box pews above. The church is set back from the road and has a small cleared burial ground in front.
