Description
5, 6, and 7 Jack Royd is a house that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the mid to late 17th century and has undergone later alterations and additions. The building is constructed of coursed rubble stone with alternating block quoins and features a stone slate roof with ashlar coping and kneelers. It has a central ridge chimney and is two storeys high with three bays, consisting of two regular bays and a narrow end bay. At the rear, there is a gabled two-storey wing with a lower gabled extension. The stone mullion windows have 20th-century glazing, and there is a small pent extension to the left. On the rear side, there are chamfered stone mullioned windows with 20th-century glazing and some remaining square hood moulds. A half-glazed door is set in a chamfered stone surround. The north door has a datestone inscribed with "W.E.P 1732."
