Description

The drinking fountain in People's Park is a Grade II listed structure, likely dating from the later 19th century. It is a square stone structure featuring a niche with an urn on each face. The fountain has an arched cornice and is topped with a finial in the shape of an urn. An inscription on the fountain notes that it was a gift from J Thorp. The base of the fountain is stepped. This fountain is part of a group of listed buildings along Park Road.
