Description

The South African War Memorial, dated 1904, is located in West View Park and was designed by architect W.W. Longbottom, with sculpture by B. Sheppard. This elaborate stone structure features a circular upper stage made of polished granite, which supports a standing bronze figure of a soldier. The memorial also includes bronze tablets.
