Description

White Wells is a building mainly from the 18th century, located on Roman Road in Ilkley Moor. It is two storeys high and constructed of white-painted rubble, featuring stone slab roofs and gable chimneys. The building has a total of five windows. Inside, there are two deep circular baths that have been hollowed out of the rock, which are supplied with a constant flow of water from nearby springs. This site is historically significant as it was the first foundation for Ilkley's development as a resort.
