Description
Grandage Gate Farmhouse and the adjoining barn, dated 1830, is a squat two-storey farmhouse built of dressed sandstone, often referred to as "brick." The building features a stone slate roof with dentil brackets along the eaves and corniced chimneys. The symmetrical front has three bays, with two-light square mullion windows on either side of a single light window above the doorway. The window surrounds are squared. The doorway has squared jambs and a frieze with a date, flanked by console brackets that support a cornice above. The barn extends from the main building line and includes a segmental voussoir archway with a dovecote above, which is flanked by roundel openings.
