Description
Probably dating from the 18th century, 38 Main Street is a two-storey building constructed of coursed, dressed stone with gable chimneys and a stone slab roof. It has two wide-spaced windows, which have been altered. The ground floor openings have also been altered. A porch projects to the right, incorporating a door on a free-standing side, and the building abuts number 40 to the left. The property forms part of a group with numbers 30, the Malt Shovel Public House, and the outbuildings and numbers 34 to 40, creating an uninterrupted series of buildings along the south side of Main Street.
