Description
No 30, known as the Malt Shovel Public House, is a building that likely dates from the 18th century but has undergone significant modifications. It stands two storeys tall and is constructed from coursed, dressed stone. The façade features three modern windows, with the bottom right-hand window being larger than the others. There is a central doorway with a renewed or modern doorcase that is moulded and topped with a steep plain pediment. The door itself is also modern. The building has moulded gutter brackets and a stone slab roof, with gable chimneys that have moulded cornices.
The Malt Shovel Public House, along with the outbuildings to the east and Nos 34 to 40 (even), forms a cohesive group of buildings along the south side of Main Street.
